Arkaixo: The worst tour company I have found in Peru. We agreed to make the visit in Spanish, we started with the group in English. Supposedly the guide would arrive in the language that we had been told. Finally we did not do the tour in our language and the tour from my point of view left a lot to be desired.Bad experience that made me lose much of the time I had to enjoy this city. I don't like my time being played with and this tour company did just that.Not recommendable!!!
Justus: Wir haben die Tour um 12:15 gemacht. Treffpunkt am Plaza San Fransico. Die Wege waren alternativ und schön. Unser Guide sprach leider wirklich nur sehr gebrochenes Englisch. Wir konnten ihn leider nur kaum folgen. Man war teilweise völlig verwirrt, was er einem erzählen will. Zwischendrin empfiehlt er dann noch, wie auf dem Foto zu sehen, irgendeine Agentur für Touren und macht generell einen eher zerstreuten Eindruck. Würde ich nicht weiterempfehlen und nicht nochmal machen. Verstehe die positiven Bewertungen nicht.

I had not thought that I am going to know so many things about Arequipa the same day of my arrival but that's the way it is. We went through the oldest neighborhoods, we tried typical Arequipa things like coffee, ice cream cheese and chicha and we learned a lot about the history of Arequipa. However, we are glad we did.Firstly, the reason it's cheaper for Peruvians is because it's their heritage, and its only right that its cheaper for them.Secondly, we were sceptical about the guide, however it really enhanced the experience. They covered all the areas of information that were written around artefacts and also gave additional info. The tip is at your discretion as well.Would 100% recommend, incredibly interesting and informative.

À noter que tout est expliqué en anglais ou en espagnol sur les murs donc il n’y a clairement aucune nécessité d’avoir un guide.Il y avait une vidéo explicative datant de plus de 15 ans c’était en anglais, et même moi qui suis bilingue. La qualité était tellement horrible qu’il était impossible de comprendre.Ensuite il faisait vraiment sombre, et encore une fois on a pas pu apprécier correctement et faire des allé retour dans les salles comme on fait dans les musées normalement car le guide nous a pressé. Sans compter que le musée est sponsorisé par l’université catholique. Il y a donc un courant catholique en explication de la culture, des incas et des quechua.Internet sera votre meilleur ami. Si vous avez besoin de vous informer, il n’y a rien de particulier. Dans ce musée. Mark Webster: Really disappointing. As mentioned in other reviews it’s compulsory to have a guided tour. When we arrived and were told this we politely asked if we could go around without a guide. The man in the desk immediately ignored us and started talking to another couple behind us. Incredibly rude. Half the tour is a 20min video with terrible sound quality. The guided tour was rushed and ruined the experience.Note that the museum is sponsored by the Catholic university and is therefore biased. We recommend doing some Quechua guided tours to get the real local history before attending.
